– A Poem by Mirriam Gurajena
Hours turn to days
days turn to months
Months turn to years
That will never reverse
(Life is) Moving forward
While I get dragged along
After all, I can’t pause time
I sit reminiscing.
Time that will not be recovered
Tears roll down
What was I to do
What am I to do
Breathe, Think, Eat
Sleep, now that’s fun.
Everything comes to a halt
I get a moment to think
Somehow about how
different it could be
It’s so much better
Until the dream ends
Reality strikes
Nowhere to hide
Except! Ooh yeah
Sleep some-more
I have come to accept
My life now
Though not what
it should or I want it
To be
I can only cry
About days gone by
And watch my heart
Fall to pieces
Nothing more, Nothing less
Tomorrow I look
With fear
of the unknown
Bleeding as each day
Passes
The future
I need to take charge
To behold
To live to my fullest potential
Then again, tomorrow
Never comes
But mostly
Tomorrow starts today
The future is Now.
