Across the desserts
I’ve waited
Past the seven seas
I’ve soared
Up the highest mountains
I’ve hiked
All in an attempt to get a spike of ecstasy
To banish the madness
Let the darkness vanish
Instead
I bathe in sadness
My heart empty
Body famished
The soles of my feet are cracked
From walking on eggshells that my mind implanted
In every pathway
My journey is hacked.
